Barbara Ann Hornbeak, 75, of Clinton died Feb. 28, 2013, at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
Born Nov. 11, 1937, in Fredericksburg, Va., she was the daughter of Hunter Rose and Alberta Shelton Rose.
She was an avid reader, especially of the Bible. She was the center of her family and loved them dearly, enjoying everything that they did, especially decorating at Christmas. She also loved to shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Henry T. Rose, Jerry L. Rose and Jean Rose. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl D. Hornbeak; children, Todd Eric Hornbeak of Waldorf and William Bradley Hornbeak (Margaret) of Mechanicsville; brothers, Robert Rose (Beatrice) and Ellis T. Rose (Pat); sister, Joyce Darnell Nave; sister-in-law, Madeline Rose; grandchildren, Carla Hornbeak DiMichele, Brandon Carl Hornbeak, Stephanie Ann Hornbeak and Brittany Faye Hornbeak.
The family received friends March 4 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall. Services were held March 5 at Grace Chapel Ministries in Mechanicsville. The Rev. Carl H. Snyder officiated. Interment followed at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf. Pallbearers were Joey Coon, Nick DiMichele, Sean Quade, Matt Finkbiner, Donny Rovito and Jimmy Green.
