Linda Gourley Coyne, 66, of Summerville, S.C., formerly of Arnold, died March 7, 2013, in Mechanicsville.
Born Nov. 13, 1946, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Rosetta A. (Macdonald) and Elmer Harold Gourley Jr.
She was a pharmaceutical rep and retired in 1999. She loved traveling, ballet and dancing, classical music, cooking, fine dining, swimming, sailing, snow skiing and reading, especially medical journals and holistic information. She was also strongly involved with prayer and her community. She was a member of the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Summerville and belonged to Cursillo, Third Order Franciscan and Christ Renews His Parish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Coyne. She is survived by her children, John Coyne Jr. (Mary), Andrew Coyne (Jessica), James Coyne, Matthew Coyne (Lisa) and Daniel Coyne (Adrienne); brother, Bob Gourley of Toms River, N.J.; nephew, Robert; and eight grandchildren.
The family received friends and prayers were led by Deacon William “Bill” Kyte on March 11 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall. A Mass was celebrated March 12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mechanicsville, with the Rev. David G. Wells officiating. Interment will take place March 15 at Dorchester Memory Gardens in Summerville, following Mass at 11 a.m.
