Charles County Parks and Recreation is holding registration for summer coed and girls youth basketball leagues for children 7 to 17 as of June 1, 2013.
The cost is $50 if registered by May 11 or $65 after that date. The registration deadline is May 31.
Volunteers are needed to be head coaches and if selected, the volunteer’s child will receive a 50 percent refund off his/her registration fee.

The Central Charles Jaguars will hold registration on March 30 at Dick’s Sporting Goods in the St. Charles Towne Center and April 6, 13 and 27 at Sports Authority in Waldorf.
The Jaguars are also accepting applications for football and cheerleading coaches.

White Plains Golf Course will offer golf memberships for children 8 to 17 (as of Jan. 1, 2013).
The cost for a yearly pass, which covers April 1 to March 31, is $175. The cost for a three-month pass, which covers June 1 to Aug. 31, is $125. Beginners are welcome. Early registration is encouraged.

Unique Sports Academy in Waldorf is taking registrations for its new season. The recreational gymnastics program offers a variety of classes for children ages 18 months to 18.

The Southern Maryland Sabres travel ice hockey teams will hold tryouts at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf April 30 to May 7.
Squirt tryouts (2003-04) will be held from 6:45 to 8 p.m. April 30 and 6:15 to 7:05 p.m. May 7. PeeWee tryouts (2001-02) will be held from 6:45 to 8 p.m. May 2 and 7:15 to 8:05 p.m. May 7. Bantam tryouts (1999-2000) will be held from 8:10 to 9:25 p.m. April 30 and 8:15 to 9:05 p.m. May 7. Midget tryouts (U-16: 1997-1998 and U-18: 1995-1996) will be held from 8:10 to 9:05 p.m. May 2 and 9:15 to 10:05 p.m. May 7. Players should attend both sessions.
The cost is $50. If selected for a team or if rostered on a rec team, the cost will be applied to the 2013-14 season fees. USA Hockey registration is required.

Registration is open for the Upward Spring Soccer League at First Baptist Church of La Plata. Evaluations will be held at the church, 9070 Hawthorne Road in La Plata, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23.

The Calverton Soccer Academy will hold a spring break soccer skills and competition camp from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 25 to 29 and April 1 to 5 at The Calverton School in Huntingtown.
Spring break trainings are structured to give one hour of technical and agility work followed by one hour of game play.

The Pisgah Youth Soccer Association, which serves Pisgah, Ironsides, Marbury and Nanjemoy, is holding open online registration for the spring season for children 4 to 18.
The cost is $80, which covers a child’s uniform and all county fees. Registration can be done online at www.pisgahsoccer.org via PayPal, by cash or check.
For those who pay by cash or check, payment is due by the first scheduled practice of the season. All practices are held at the Melwood Recreational Center in Nanjemoy.

The Challenger Sports British Soccer Camps will be held in Calvert County June 24 to 28 and July 8 to 12, in Charles County June 17 to 21, July 15 to 19 and Aug. 5 to 9 and in St. Mary’s County July 29 to Aug. 2.
