Two people, including a 14-year-old girl, were shot Wednesday night in a home invasion in Aspen Hill.

Montgomery County Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 13000 block of Freeland Road at about 12:46 a.m., according to police spokesman Rebecca Innocenti.

According to police, two armed suspects forced entry through a door into the home on Freeland Road and demanded money from the residents. During the interaction between the suspects and residents, a 14-year-old girl was shot in the ankle and a 55-year old man was shot in the upper body.

Police said the suspects fled from the home after the shooting. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Innocenti said.

“We believe there is some association between the residents and the suspects,” she said of the shooting.
