Three men were arrested in connection with a shooting Thursday afternoon in the Bannister neighborhood in Waldorf.
At 3 p.m. March 21, five people were inside a vehicle on Wingate Place making a drug transaction, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victim and a friend were inside the victim’s car with three men they knew. One of the men pulled a gun and shot the victim, 21, multiple times in the upper body.
The victim was able to drive to the 2800 block of Lyon Place in Waldorf, where police and medical personnel responded.
He was flown to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, police said. His friend was not injured.
According to the sheriff’s office, police canvassed the area with a police dog unit and found evidence possibly linked to the case.
The three suspects were in a house on Wedgewood Place in Waldorf and were arrested without incident.
Anthony Deandre Dance, 18, Jermaine Marquette Hagen Jr., 21, and Jalen Donte Kirk, 17, all of Waldorf, were charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, unlawful possession of a handgun, attempted robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Kirk was charged as an adult.
All three were taken to the Charles County jail, police said.
