Three St. Mary’s residents have been charged with burglary and theft offenses in court papers alleging they broke into a Great Mills home last February and stole property including a strongbox holding about $10,000.

A judge ordered Monday that Richard T. Jenkins, 26, of Callaway remain in jail in lieu of $15,000 bond after his arrest on the charges filed by St. Mary’s detectives. William R. Hobbs, 25, of Valley Lee was released last month on $5,000 bond after his arrest on the same charges. Ericka K. Hillegass, 37, also was charged with the same offenses and was released from custody last month on personal recognizance.

The three suspects are accused in charging papers of forcing their way into Charles Aud’s home on Feb. 12 through a pair of French doors and stealing the strongbox of money, along with an air compressor, set of nail guns, a shotgun and two boxes of ammunition.
