Four local restaurants helped raise money for the Wounded Veterans 5K that was held March 24 by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the Charles County Fraternal Order of Police and the Charles County Correctional Officers Association.

They were Pizza Hotline in La Plata, Texas Roadhouse in La Plata, Tequila Grill in Charlotte Hall and Fiesta Café in Mechanicsville.

The restaurants donated a portion of their profits during designated hours.

The 5K was held March 24 at the Laurel Springs Regional Park in La Plata and raised money for the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides comfort and financial support to wounded service members.

Texas Roadhouse, Chick-fil-A and WTG Tactical sponsored the event.
