At 11 p.m. April 13, the victim and a friend were leaving the carnival at St. Charles Towne Center when they observed a group of people leaning against their car. When the victim asked the suspects to move, the group refused and words were exchanged, according to a report from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

The argument escalated into a fistfight. During the assault, the suspects stole the victim’s cell phone and keys and then fled, police reported. Patrol officers arrived and were able to identify one of the suspects.

Further investigation led to the identity of the other suspects. On April 18, Drew Dorsey, 17, of Waldorf and a 14-year-old female were arrested and charged with robbery, assault and theft. Dorsey was charged as an adult.

Detectives have identified a third person, and an arrest warrant is imminent.

Officer R. Johnson is investigating.
