Two men found unconscious by Annapolis Police Department

Staff writer

Two Lusby men were found dead in a vehicle in the 1200 block of Forest Drive in Annapolis from an apparent drug overdose.

The Annapolis Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Forest Drive on the morning of April 21 for a report of two unconscious men in a vehicle at a gas station, according to an Annapolis police press release.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered John Paul Hunter, 32, and Michael Lee Skirvin III, 29, both of Lusby, dead inside the vehicle.

Det. Richard Truitt said police believe the men were “there for several hours prior to police being notified.”

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates both Hunter and Skirvin died as a result of a drug overdose; however, the bodies were taken to the medical examiner’s office in Baltimore and autopsy results are pending.

Truitt said police believe it was a drug overdose because drugs were found at the scene and there were indications with the body that drugs were recently used prior to the time of death. Both Hunter’s and Skirvin’s families, Truitt said, indicated they suffered from drug use and may have recently exited drug rehab programs.

Truitt said police will not be able to tell whether the men died from “bad drugs or too much drugs” until the toxicology report comes back from the medical examiner’s office.

Anyone with information concerning their deaths should call Det. John Murphy at 410-562-7759.
