Postal worker sexually assaulted on her lunch break in Silver Spring, police say -- Gazette.Net


Police are looking for the person who allegedly sexually assaulted a U.S. Postal Service employee at knifepoint in Silver Spring as she was on her lunch break Thursday.

Montgomery County Police Cpt. Paul Starks said a 21-year-old postal employee was walking in the neighborhood behind the post office at 110 University Boulevard West during her lunch break about 2:37 p.m. when she was approached by a man on Rogart Road in Silver Spring.

The man produced a knife and forced the woman into the backyard of a nearby home, according to a press release from the Montgomery County Police. There, police said, the man sexually assaulted the woman and fled. Starks said no injuries were reported in the incident.
