A convicted rapist in St. Mary’s was jailed without bond this week after his arrest on charging papers alleging he had sexual relations last winter with a 15-year-old girl.

Alfonso Gasnarez, 31, of Lexington Park was charged with committing a third-degree sexual offense with the teenager on Feb. 2 at his home in a trailer park off Great Mills Road, through the investigation initiated Wednesday by St. Mary’s detective Cpl. William Raddatz.

Gasnarez was sentenced in 2007 to serve one year in jail, with work-release privileges, after his guilty plea to second-degree rape, online court records state, from charging papers alleging he had unlawful sexual relations in September 2005 with two girls who were 13 years old.

A charge in 2010 that Gasnarez committed a sex-offender registry violation was placed on an inactive docket, online court records state, and his guilty plea in 2011 to a sex-offender registry violation resulted in a 60-day sentence, suspended to two days served in jail from that arrest until his release on personal recognizance.
