A police dog team searched the building following an evacuation

A spokeswoman for the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said that courthouse operations in La Plata will be resuming shortly following a bomb threat made today.

The Charles County courthouse was evacuated Wednesday morning after a bomb threat was made at about 10 a.m., sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kristen Timko said. A telephone caller said there was a bomb in the building. A sheriff’s office police dog team responded and no bomb was found, Timko said.
