At 6:45 p.m. May 11, a man and his friends were walking in the area of Dorchester Circle in Waldorf when they were approached by a teen who demanded that the man hand over a pair of tennis shoes he was carrying. The victim refused.

The teen grabbed the shoes and tried to take them, but the victim fought with him. Eventually, the teen was able to get the shoes, and he ran off with a group of people who were nearby.

Officers were called to the scene and learned that the victim’s friends knew the robber. The people were located a short time later in a nearby neighborhood.

The robbery suspect, 14, of White Plains, was arrested and charged with robbery, theft and possession of marijuana. A 17-year-old from Bowie was charged with possession of marijuana. A third person, Tymark Cochiesse Wells, 20, of White Plains, was arrested after a computer check revealed he had an open warrant for a robbery that occurred in Virginia.
