Resurfacing began last week on St. Andrew’s Church Road from Route 5 to Route 235, a length of six miles.

Aggregate Industries of Greenbelt is doing the work under a contract of $2.6 million with the Maryland State Highway Administration. Work will be done during the weekday daytime hours and should be finished by 3 p.m. each day, said Charlie Gischlar, SHA public information officer. Drivers should expect lane closures and should use caution when driving past workers and equipment.

The work is scheduled to continue to mid- to late June, weather permitting, Gischlar said. The old road surface will be milled off, repaved and restriped.
