The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has yet to file charges in a stabbing homicide in Waldorf that left a woman dead.

Jessica Nicole Stith, 25, of Waldorf died last week after a dispute with a neighbor.

Stith died of multiple stab wounds. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Diane Richardson said the OOfice of the Chief Medical Examiner reported the death a homicide but that there still are no charges in the case.

At 11:02 p.m. May 16, sheriff’s officers went to the 11800 block of Oak Manor Drive in Waldorf after someone called to report a dispute between neighbors.

Police found Stith inside her home with wounds to her upper body.

She was transported to Civista Medical Center in La Plata and pronounced dead.

On arrival at the scene, officers also found a 32-year-old man with a cut on his forehead in the parking lot.

Richardson said it appeared he had been struck in the head with a bottle.

He was taken to a local hospital. Richardson said police are not releasing the man’s name pending the results of the investigation.

Richardson said Thursday afternoon that officers are working with the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office and have outlined to prosecutors the facts of the case as they know them.

Richardson said officers have continued interviewing witnesses and the sheriff’s office is “still waiting on analysis of evidence recovered at the scene.”

Richardson would not specify what the evidence was.

Charles County State’s Attorney Anthony B. Covington (D) did not respond to a request for comment by Thursday afternoon.
