The 4-year-old injured in a crash on Monday on Billingsley Road died shortly after midnight Wednesday, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Darius Harsha of Waldorf, along with two siblings, was a passenger in the back seat of a car being driven by his mother. A preliminary investigation showed Dominicque Marie Hodges, 25, was traveling east on Billingsley Road when she lost control of her car and struck a tree. She was flown to Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., where she was admitted with injuries that were not life-threatening. Her three children were flown to Children’s National Medical Center where they were admitted: her 2-month-old girl and her 6-year-old son were admitted in critical condition but their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Chrystal Dorsey, a cousin of the boys’ father, said Tuesday that donations for the family are being accepted at www.gofundme.com/38hh2o.
Sheriff’s office Cpl. Jason Hopkins is continuing the investigation.
