Island Music Company in La Plata was selected as a 2013 Top 100 Dealer by the National Association of Music Merchants. Selected from a national pool of applicants, Island Music was chosen based on success and innovation in marketing, merchandising, community advocacy and online presence, according to an Island news release.
The Top 100 Dealer Awards spotlight the industry’s best, brightest and most proactive retailers. Judges look for retailers with inventive and visionary approaches, proactive business practices and standout performance as they review the applicants that included small independent stores as well as big chain stores, the release states.
“The Top 100 celebrates our friends and peers who have risen above the crowd to serve their communities in new and innovative ways,” Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM, said in the release.
Island Music’s “Top 100” status enters them in the running for “2013 Dealer of the Year” as well as individual awards in Best Merchandising Display, Best Marketing and Sales Promotion, Best Online Presentation, Support Music Advocacy, Music Makes a Difference, Best Emerging Dealer “Rookie of the Year,” and Best Special Event.
“It’s an honor to be recognized within our industry for all of our hard work,” Keith Grasso, owner of Island Music, said in the release. “We take great pride in our place in the community, great customer service and innovative merchandising and promotions. And of course the strong work ethic of our entire team.
