Motorists should expect delays, sheriff’s deputies say
Motorists traveling on Route 235 in Hollywood on Saturday evening, June 29, should expect lengthy backups and long delays, St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputies report, during the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department’s Independence Day celebration.
The event will start at 5 p.m. and conclude at midnight, the sheriff’s office reports, with the heaviest traffic delays expected between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m.
Traffic will be stopped intermittently for pedestrians to cross the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway at a median crossover, opposite the entrance to the firehouse. One northbound lane and one southbound lane will be closed in that area. In addition, parking on the shoulder of Old Three Notch Road to attend the event will be prohibited.
