Make “Celebrate Charles: A Fun-Filled Fourth” part of your Fourth of July plans.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Regency Furniture Stadium at 11765 St. Linus Drive in Waldorf, local businesses, artisans and food establishments will be showcased in the “Best of Charles County.” Live music will be performed.

In addition to a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m., guests will enjoy a special, one-of-a-kind, daytime fireworks show at 6:30 p.m.

Admission to the event is free; however, activities, food and product purchases all carry fees. A ticket is required to attend the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball game at 6:35 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the stadium box office. Guests will receive a free wristband with the purchase of a ticket.

Additional parking will be available at Mary B. Neal Elementary at 12105 St. George’s Drive in Waldorf with free shuttle service to and from the stadium.

Indian Head will hold a celebration at 3:30 p.m. July 4 on the Village Green Pavilion at 100 Walter Thomas Road. There will be amusements, live entertainment, Rockin’ Roger DJ and food for sale.

The Watermelon Bash will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 4 at La Plata Town Hall at 305 Queen Anne St.

Thomas Stone National Historic Site will hold an Independence Day celebration 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the site, 6655 Rose Hill Road, Port Tobacco. A memorial service will be 10 a.m.; historic toy display, free carriage rides and tours offered.

Friends of Smallwood State Park and park staff will hold a program 1 to 3 p.m. July 4 with Colonial music and cooking displays, tours of Smallwood’s Retreat, a wreath-laying and a talk about the connection between Gen. William Smallwood and Thomas Stone.
