Police have identified the man found dead in his Rockville home and are questioning his children about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Early Thursday morning, Montgomery County police arrived at the 9800 block of Juniper Hill Road in response to a 911 call about a man not breathing.

When police arrived on the scene, they pronounced Chandrasekhar Korapati, 50, dead, according to a news release from the department.

Based on initial findings, investigators believe Korapati was involved in an altercation with his son and daughter, 19 and 20 years old, respectively, according to a police report.

The son called 911 around 6:20 a.m. The two children where in the home when police arrived.

“When officers arrived, circumstances were such that they think it [the death] is suspicious,” Daly said.

The two children and other family members are being questioned as the investigation continues, according to police.

Korapati has had two domestic violence incidents along with a contract claim filed against him by Prince George’s County, online court records show.

In one of the cases, which took place in March 2006, a judge granted a protective order and ordered him to leave his house, and not to enter the home of the person asking for the protective order or to abuse that person.

A second protective order was sought against him in December 2008.

In that case, a judge granted an interim protective order and a temporary protective order. That order was later dismissed after the petitioner failed to appear in court.
