Indian head driver strikes, kills woman standing in road

Maryland State Police have identified the woman who was killed Thursday morning on U.S. 301 in White Plains after being struck while standing in the road.
According to MSP, at 1:10 a.m. Aug. 1, a Toyota driven by Peter Ross, 61, of Indian Head was headed north on the highway near Jaybee Lane in White Plains when it struck Kimberly Matalice Sitko, 32, of White Plains. Police said she was standing in the northbound lane while it was raining.
Sitko was pronounced dead on the scene. Her body was sent to the chief medical examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
Ross remained on the scene and was not injured, police reported.
The investigation is continuing.
