An employee from the Germantown Chick-fil-A restaurant has been awarded a company scholarship to attend college in the fall.

Jean-Philippe Soglo of Germantown has worked at the Germantown Town Center eatery for two years and recently was awarded one of the company’s $1,000 Leadership Scholarships.

The award is meant to recognize employees who show leadership and strong character qualities, according to a news release.

Since the scholarship program’s start in 1973, almost 30,000 employees have received scholarships totaling nearly $30 million.

All Leadership Scholarship recipients become eligible for the S. Truett Cathy Scholar Award, named after the chain’s founder, which provides another $1,000 to the top 25 Leadership scholars.
