The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an alleged intentional fire set to a shopping cart Wednesday evening.
At 6:32 p.m. Wednesday, six members of the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department responded to Safeway on Dares Beach Road for a report of burning personal property, according to a press release. The fire was controlled in about five minutes and caused about $250 in damage.
Officials said an abandoned shopping cart filled with someone’s personal belongings was taken behind the Safeway and intentionally set on fire.
