Celebrates increases in membership of nearly 7,000, loan portfolio by more than half
Andrews Federal Credit Union held its 65th annual meeting June 24 at its headquarters in Suitland.
The meeting was led by Gen. Frank M. Cardile, chairman of the board of directors.
Andrews Federal experienced one of its best performing years in 2012, according to a credit union news release. Membership increased by nearly 7,000 new members, and its loan portfolio increased by more than half compared to 2011. The meeting opened with the re-election of three board members, Gerald Brown, director; Bennie Roberts, vice chairman; and Roger Scearce, treasurer.
Evan Gaskin and Tiara Hodge, two of the 2013 Andrews Federal scholarship winners, and their families were also in attendance.
Glen Carpenter, an original member of Andrews Federal was present for his first-ever annual meeting after 65 years of membership.
“We were ecstatic to not only have two of our scholarship winners, but also one of the original members of Andrews Federal present this evening,” Jim Hayes, Andrews Federal CEO, said in the release. “It was a great pictorial of our diversified membership.”
