Two masked men dressed in black clothing, including one armed with a handgun, robbed a clerk early Sunday morning of an undisclosed amount of money, St. Mary’s detectives report, at the Charlotte Hall Exxon convenience store.
The culprits ran away from the scene of the 2:27 a.m. holdup, and a police dog tracked their scent until reaching the area of a nearby restaurant, according to the St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations. No arrests were reported as of midday Monday.
Detectives requested that anyone with information about the crime call Cpl. Robert Merritt at 301-475-4200, ext. 9042, or Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333, or send cellphone tips in to “TIP239,” plus the message to “CRIMES” (274637). Callers and tipsters do not have to leave their name. If the information leads to an arrest and conviction, the caller or tipster may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
