The Second Annual Vietnamese Heritage Festival, VietFest, transformed the parking lot at Alexandria’s Landmark Mall into a living classroom Saturday and Sunday.

At this year’s “Beautiful Vietnam” themed event, VietFest celebrated Vietnam’s rich and vibrant culture through art, food, history and entertainment. Highlights included the Miss VietFest Pageant, the VietFest’s Got Talent competition, Mr. VietFest competition, the popular Pho-Eating Competition, and the Crawfish Eating Competition.

Also new this year was the Little Vietnam Village culture, history and art center, the Lanterns by Night decoration, the Amazing Lion Dance, and Culture Parade. Visitors enjoyed Vietnamese hospitality and the authentic Vietnamese cuisines, along with food from many other Asian countries.

For those who were up for the challenge, there was a pingpong tournament and chess competition. On the main stage, there where many traditional and modern Vietnamese music and instrumental performances, accompanied by traditional dances and a fashion show.
