A Mechanicsville woman has been charged through a summons with fireworks violations, reckless endangerment and destructive-device offenses by deputy state fire marshals investigating an explosion last month behind a California shopping center.
Cynthia Mae Oakley, 54, was served with the charges Friday in Mechanicsville, the fire marshal’s office, from the Aug. 14 nighttime incident behind the Hickory Hills Shopping Center, where the discharge of the commercial grade firework resulted in a blaze causing $5,000 to a nearby vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
