Police are investigating a crash that killed two people early Monday morning.
According to information provided by the Maryland State Police La Plata barrack, at 2:16 a.m. Sept. 16, a motorcycle traveling north on U.S. 301 just north of Route 227 hit the back of a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction.
MSP reported that the two people on the motorcycle who have not been identified, died on the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
MSP released Monday the name of the man who died in a Thursday evening crash.
At 11:07 p.m. Sept. 12, MSP went to Route 5 at Mattawoman-Beantown Road, north of Substation Road, to answer a call reporting the crash.
Troopers reported that a white Ford F-150 driven by Clayton Silvester Wood, 50, of La Plata overturned when the truck ran off the roadway.
Wood was pronounced dead at the scene.
