Two Mechanicsville teenagers have been charged with theft and multiple property destruction offenses in court papers alleging they damaged mailboxes and a truck, and stole a U.S. flag and flagpole at a home near Golden Beach.

John Edward Dunlak and Frank Anthony Holl III, both 18, also took an electric spotlight and three lawn ornaments on Oct. 20 from Kenneth A. Fulks’ residence, where a chain-link fence was damaged, according to a charges application filed last Saturday by St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputy J.E. Davis.

Fulks’ flagpole was taken to the residence of James Raley Faunce, where charging papers allege that the two teenage suspects destroyed Faunce’s mailbox.

In addition, charging papers allege that Dunlak and Holl smashed the windshield to Justin Blake Behr’s 1986 Ford Ranger, and destroyed a mailbox belonging to Kenneth Dale Gass.

Holl’s wallet was found in Faunce’s yard, the deputy wrote in charging papers, adding that when the two suspects were questioned, they “provided alibis for their whereabouts during the thefts and property destruction which proved to be false.”
