Rockville residents and visitors can celebrate the fast approach of winter with a visit to the town square ice rink.
Musicians, ice dancers and hockey players opened the outdoor skating rink for the winter season at an opening celebration Friday evening in Rockville Town Square.
According to Rockville Town Square, the 7,200-square-foot ice rink is the county’s largest outdoor ice rink and the largest between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
The ice rink is open noon to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $8, $7 for children 12 and younger. Skate rentals are $3. Season passes, discount cards, skating lessons and private parties also are available.
