The Prince George’s County Police are investigating a car crash that killed a Waldorf man Sunday morning in Fort Washington.
Police reported that about 5:30 a.m. Nov. 17, officers responded to the 12700 block of Livingston Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash.
Asa M. Hernandez, 26, of Waldorf was traveling north on Livingston Road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole, according to preliminary information from police.
Hernandez was unresponsive when police arrived to the scene. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, the release states.
Speed appears to be a factor, and Hernandez was not wearing a seat belt, police reported.

Mechanicsville man struck, killed
A Mechanicsville man was killed Monday night, police report, when he tried to walk across a highway in the path of a pickup truck.
Roland Philip Tucker, 52, died at the scene of the 7:55 p.m. crash, according to the St. Mary’s County sheriff’s office. Tucker was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Three Notch Road, near an intersection with New Market Turner Road, the sheriff’s office reports, and he failed to yield the right of way to a 2011 Ford F-150 truck operated by Paul Downs of California. No other injuries were reported.
Neither alcohol, other drugs or the truck’s speed are considered to be factors in the accident, according to the sheriff’s office.
