Police probe possible link between crimes
Bannister, Wakefield robberies could be related
Police are investigating a pair of potentially related armed robberies that occurred within 22 minutes of each other Nov. 25 in the Waldorf neighborhoods of Bannister and Wakefield.
The first robbery occurred at 7 p.m. A 21-year-old man was getting into his car in the 5100 block of Shawe Place in Waldorf, when another man walked up and tapped on the passenger side window with a handgun.
The victim told police he was ordered out of his car and told to empty his pockets. As he did so, several other robbers approached and went through the car. The robbers ran away, leaving the victim unhurt.
Later, at 7:22 p.m., a 17-year-old boy said he was walking on Keepsake Place when a group of men assaulted him and stole his phone, bag and some clothing.
The robbers might have fled in a red SUV and black car.
