Due to forecasted extreme weather conditions, all St. Mary’s public schools afternoon and evening activities have been postponed for Monday, Jan. 6.

With temperatures forecasted to decline throughout the day and temperatures tomorrow expected to reach a high of 19 degrees (with wind-chill values as low as minus 10 degrees), the following locations are being made available as warming centers.

The centers will be open during regular hours for residents who need to take refuge in a warm place at one of the following locations: Garvey Senior Activity Center, 41780 Baldridge St. in Leonardtown, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Loffler Senior Activity Center, 21905 Chancellor’s Run Road in Great Mills, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Northern Senior Activity Center, 29655 Charlotte Hall Road in Charlotte Hall, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Charlotte Hall Library, 37600 New Market Road in Charlotte Hall, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Leonardtown library, 23250 Hollywood Road in Leonardtown, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Lexington Park library, 21677 FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
