Angela Dean was in a critical care ward on Friday afternoon, according to an employee at the hospital.
Shortly before midnight on Thursday night, police report, Angela Dean called 911 dispatchers to report that she was having an argument with her husband and that he was loading a gun. During the phone call, which lasted less than one minute, police report, noises that sounded like gunshots were heard in the background.
State police report that their troopers and St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, forced their way into the residence and found James Dean on the living room floor with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. Angela Dean was found nearby, and she was given initial treatment at the scene for her gunshot injuries before she was flown to the hospital.
“She was able to make a brief statement to those [troopers] who were there with her, at the scene,” Elena Russo, a state police spokesperson, said on Friday afternoon, adding that the Deans had only lived at that address for a short while. “They had just moved in,” Russo said, “in the late fall.”
