The Charles County commissioners recently proclaimed the week of Jan. 6 as Charles County Saves Week.
America Saves is a national social marketing campaign to persuade, encourage and motivate Americans to take financial action in building wealth through saving money and reducing debt.
The Assets for Financial Independence Foundation is a partner in the America Saves campaign and is committed to helping Charles County residents take immediate financial action to “Build Wealth, Not Debt,” according to a news release from the county government.
Charles County Saves is partners with the Charles County Public Library, Mount Sinai AME Church in Waldorf, Wells Fargo Bank in La Plata and Farmer Insurance in White Plains.
“A Financial and Social Challenges of College Life” seminar for high school juniors and seniors and college freshmen will be Feb. 8.
“Developing Money Smart Habits” for people 25 and older will be Feb. 22.
“A Building Wealth: Preparing for a Homeownership” seminar for those 25 and older will be Feb. 15.
All seminars will be held 9:30 a.m. to noon at Waldorf West library at 10405 O’Donnell Place.
