James Lee Deskins, 74, Greenwood, SC

James Lee Deskins, 74, husband of Judith Talbert Deskins, died February 9, 2014 at Hospice House.

Born in Indian Head, MD, he was a son of the late Raymond E. Deskins, Sr. and Evelyn Scott Deskins. James was an Industrial Specialist for the U.S. Government. He was a Naval Air Reserve veteran having served during Peacetime. James was the Past President of Accokeek Fire Department in Maryland and Past President of P. G. C. V. F. and R. A.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Jennifer Gheen (Scott) of Greenwood; a sister, Jo Lyon (Jim) of Easton, MD; two brothers, Raymond E. Deskins, Jr. of DE and Robert Deskins, Sr. of MD; and three grandchildren, Allen Gheen (Candace) of Myrtle Beach, Kevin and Kyle Gheen, both of Greenwood.

Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel, 1025 South Main Street, Greenwood, SC 29648 with the Rev. Mickey Hurry officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers shall be Allen, Kevin, and Kyle Gheen, Ed Caro, Al Meaders and James Lyon.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday. February 14, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm.
