A released inmate from St. Mary's jail, who was wanted on an escape charge for failing to return from a behavioral health program, has been arrested, court papers state, on charges from an alleged burglary this week at a church in Mechanicsville.

A camera valued at $500 was reported missing, court papers state, after the break-in to an office at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Allen Leonard Morgan, 50, of Hollywood also is accused in charging papers of breaking into the nearby Apple Basket store, where surveillance video from Sunday night showed someone breaking a window. About $355 was taken, court papers state, from the store's office and cash register drawers.

Morgan, sentenced early last year to a year in custody with work-release privileges from his guilty plea to a 2012 burglary, also pleaded guilty last December to a second-degree escape charge, online court records state, and he was sentenced to serve six months in jail, with permission to enter a treatment program during his last month in custody.
