Woman carjacked in her Chevy Chase driveway -- Gazette.Net


A Chevy Chase woman was carjacked at gunpoint Thursday and police are still searching for the alleged gunman.

Police said the woman was sitting in the passenger seat of her car, which was parked in her driveway in the 100 block of East Melrose Street at about 10:19 p.m., when a man opened the driver’s door, and pointed a handgun at her. The woman got out of the car and ran inside her home.

Police said the man took off driving her car toward Connecticut Avenue.

The stolen vehicle is a black 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Maryland registration 112142D.

Montgomery County Police detectives are asking anyone with information about this carjacking or the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
