After nearly two days of heavy rains blanketing Charles County, several roads are closed, and the county is under a flash flood warning, along with a tornado warning that expired at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The tornado warning was in effect for the Thompkinsville and Wicomico areas until 5 p.m. Wednesday and the flash flood warning until 6:45.

Portions of 13 county roads were under restrictions because of flooding. Leonardtown Road, the Indian Head Rail Trail, Cobb Island Road, Baptist Church Road, Poorhouse Road, Bicknell Road, Springhill Newtown Road, Budds Creek Road, Livingston Road, Barrys Hill Road, Fenwick Shores Road and Billingsley Road all had portions where only local traffic was allowed Wednesday.

Turkey Hill Road was closed to all traffic.

County government spokeswoman Crystal Hunt said the county is maintaining an up-to-date list of all county road closures at http://bit.ly/1lA6SiE.
