Camp Fit Reality Series visited Freedom Hill Horse Rescue on July 7 to build teamwork skills and learn how to overcome challenges.

The session was facilitated by FHHR Executive Director and EAGALA-certified equine specialist Kristy Alvarez. Horses Dawn and Honey, both available for adoption, were “wonderful teachers” in this equine-assisted learning program, a press release states.

The group was tasked with building an obstacle course, with each obstacle representing a personal life challenge. They next step was to lead both horses through the course using only the tools available in the paddock. After several attempts, they succeeded. The session concluded with a discussion of how to handle life challenges and how horses are good teachers because they mirror human emotions and actions, the release states.
