Crafts on the Green will be held on the lawn of the Old Towne Crafters at 26005 Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown on May 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature handcrafted items like jewelry, stained glass, nautical items, clay sculptures, crochet items, baby blankets, bath soaps and oils, silk floral arrangements, dolls, carved wood boxes, tables and more. St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League’s Fourth Annual Animal Fair will be held on May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Mary’s County fairgrounds. Events include a pet pageant, parade of horse breed, pet parade, pet blessing, dog musical sit, vendors and more. The admission cost is $5 and children 12 and under are free. The Garden Club of Society Hill will be having a plant sale to coincide with the annual Breton Bay neighborhood yard sale on May 10 from 8 a.m. to noon. The plant sale is at 40821 South 40 Drive in Breton Bay.

There will be annuals, perennials and herbs and flower-filled baskets for Mother’s Day and cut flower arrangements. Proceeds of the sale will support the beautification of the neighborhood. The yard sale will be off Society Hill Road.

An artist’s reception celebrating ‘‘The Art of Robert Bevard” will be held May 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Heron’s Way Gallery. A veterans muster will be held at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall by the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs on May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This information fair is designed for veterans and their families to learn about benefits and services offered to Maryland’s veterans by federal, state and nonprofit agencies. MDVA will have a booth to assist with filing claims for disability and compensation. Representatives from other state agencies, veteran service organizations, veteran employment reps and members of community organizations will also participate. The event is free.

The annual Piney Point Lighthouse Waterfront Festival will be held May 10 and 11 at the Piney Point Lighthouse, Museum and Historic Park in Piney Point. Saturday highlights include the opening ceremonies at 10:30 a.m., a performance by The Senior Vibes at noon and Cajun music by The Piney Point Playboys at 2 p.m. The Potomac River wade-in with the Lower Potomac Tributary Team will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday highlights include a book signing by author Michael Buckley, author of ‘‘Voices of the Chesapeake Bay.” Both days include duck decoy carving demonstrations, activities for children, a Mother’s Day raffle, exhibits by other Mid-Atlantic lighthouses, children’s art show, crafters and more.
