About 1,100 people participated in the third annual Ben’s Run on April 20 in Silver spring. During the 5K run and 1-mile walk, they raised about $60,000 for the oncology and bone marrow transplant units at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., according to organizers.
