TALK OF THE TOWN
Jerry A. McCoy is known in Silver Spring for his work as the founder of the Silver Spring Historical Society but, in Washington, D.C., he is known for a different reason. He is the special collections librarian at the Peabody Room in the Georgetown Neighborhood Library and the Washingtoniana Collection in the District of Columbia Public Library. McCoy, a dedicated librarian for 14 years, spearheaded the restoration of the Peabody Room collection after it was damaged by a library fire in 2007.
