Police are asking the public for assistance in locating a suspect who reportedly attempted an armed robbery on two men in the parking lot of Sunderland Wine and Spirits.
According to Det. Nick DeFelice of the Calvert Investigative Team, on Dec. 4 at about 10 p.m., the suspect allegedly approached the two men as they sat in their vehicle in the parking lot and attempted to rob them, a press release from the Calvert County Sheriff's Office stated.
No money was obtained from the victims, but the car keys were stolen. The weapon was not identified and no one was reported injured.
The suspect was described by the victims as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, in his early 20s with a slight beard and crooked teeth. Later identified as Delonta Devonce Dandridge, 23, of Sunderland, the suspect fled the scene toward the area of Kent Road. An arrest warrant has been issued, charging him with robbery, first-degree assault and theft under $500, the press release stated.
Dandridge frequents the Owings, North Beach and Chesapeake Beach areas, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
Those with any information on the whereabouts of Dandridge are asked to contact DeFelice or Deputy Robert Traas of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit at 410-535-2800.
