Sports and the media will converge when Tony Kornheiser and Ben Bradlee join in a free forum at 8 p.m. Jan. 26 at St. Mary’s College of Maryland in St. Mary’s City. The topic will be ‘‘Sports writing, Washington, ESPN and Monday Night Football.” The program will begin with a 30-minute roundtable led by Ben Bradlee to be followed by a period of questions from the audience. Then the focus will be on the connection between professional sports and politics. Kornheiser is known for his columns in the sports and style sections of The Washington Post, three books, his broadcasting work, including co-host with his Post colleague Michael Wilbon, of ‘‘Pardon the Interruption,” and most recently as an analyst for ESPN’s ‘‘Monday Night Football.” Bradlee is the vice president at large for The Washington Post. Zach Messitte, a third member of the forum, is director of the Center for the Study of Democracy which is hosting the event. The forum will be held in St. Mary’s Hall. The college is on Route 5.
