(Breaking news) Teen hit by car on Route 2

A teenager was injured after being hit by a car Wednesday, according to the Calvert County Sheriff's Office.

A 14-year-old was struck at the intersection of Route 2 and Dalrymple Road in Sunderland, and was evacuated by medical helicopter, according to Lt. Steve Jones.

"The juvenile allegedly had an iPod on," Jones said. "If that was a contributing factor, I don't know, but it seems like it was."

More information will be released Friday, Feb. 13, Jones said.
