Refrigerator stolen from Waldorf home

Someone stole a refrigerator from a home under construction in Waldorf, according to police.

Authorities say the appliance was stolen from the home in the 3100 block of Lady Banks Lane sometime between Feb. 13 and 16.

The other homes under construction in that area were checked, and nothing appeared to have been damaged.

Officer J. Kelly is investigating.

Police conduct warrant sweep

Sheriff's officers served 29 warrants and six civil summonses in a warrant sweep conducted from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 16, according to police.

Drugs, replica gun found in car

Police found drugs and a replica handgun during a traffic stop on Feb. 16 in Waldorf.

At 2:15 a.m., a sheriff's officer stopped a car in the 3500 block of Norwood Court, according to police.

The officer discovered the replica gun and drugs, and one of the passengers, Jonathan Marshall, 37, of Waldorf, had open warrants for violation of probation, police reported. Marshall fled from the car but was apprehended.

The driver, Charles Leon Daugherty, 38, of Brandywine and another passenger, Jennifer Lynn Peacock, 38, of Waldorf, were arrested. All three suspects were charged with possession of drugs.

Teen nabbed after break-in

A 14-year-old allegedly broke into a Waldorf home with another person to steal a video game system on Feb. 15, according to a sheriff's office report.

At 1:57 a.m., officers responded to the 6000 block of Red Wolf Place after someone reported a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, they saw a boy running away from the house and caught him with no trouble.

The boy and another person entered the house, and the homeowner heard the break-in and called police.

Officers are in the process of identifying the second person.

Officer M. Hancock made the arrest.

Swastika painted on Waldorf driveway

Someone spray-painted a swastika on a Waldorf driveway sometime between 6 p.m. Feb. 12 and 7 a.m. Feb. 13.

At about 7 a.m. Feb. 13, officers responded to the 5000 block of Damselfish Court after hearing of the vandalism.

Police said someone used purple paint to draw a swastika on the victim's driveway.

Child support warrants served

The Charles County Sheriff's Office served eight outstanding child support warrants and two outstanding criminal warrants on Feb. 18 between 5 and 11:30 a.m., according to police.

Members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office child support enforcement unit, with the assistance of the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office, conducted the warrant operation in Prince George's County to serve Charles County warrants.

Handgun, electronics stolen in burglary

Someone broke into a home in Waldorf and stole electronics and a handgun on Feb. 17, according to police.

At 3:10 p.m., Charles County sheriff's officers responded to the Trefoil Place home after someone reported a burglary.

Sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 3:10 p.m., the intruder broke into the home, police reported.
