Fred Anthony Payne, 36, Mechanicsville

Fred Anthony Payne, 36, of Mechanicsville died Feb. 16, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Mr. Payne was a central office technician for Verizon. He attended church at Fellowship Baptist Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Born July 17, 1971, in Cheverly, he was the son of Fred F. Payne and Laura A. Payne.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harry Farmer.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Patricia George Payne; sons, Trevor Michael, Rylan Anthony and Colby Alex; brother, Michael Payne; sisters, Jamie Buschman and Jennifer Bowie; maternal grandparents, Hazel and Walter Burdette of Charleston, S.C.; and paternal grandmother, Hilda Farmer.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Feb. 27 at Kalas Funeral Home, Oxon Hill, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Feb. 28 at Fellowship Baptist Church, Upper Marlboro. The Rev. David Owezarski will officiate. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham.

Pallbearers will be Mike Payne, John Fields, Earl Stone Jr., Anthony Stone, Tom Brown, Craig Klawitter, Lee Bibb Jr. and Bob Walker.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund, Fellowship Baptist Church, 8011 Rosaryville Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.
