Tribute to Harriet Tubman

The Charles County Commission for Women will hold a tribute to Harriet Tubman program from 6-8 p.m. March 12 at Bel Alton High School Community Development Center, 9501 Crain Highway. The event features a gallery exhibit, living history portrayal by Gwendolyn Briley Strand, a display of history projects by Charles County high school students and a buffet dinner. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. The event is free. Registration is required. Call 301-751-7553.
"A Figure of My Imagination," a show of figure work in various media by Julia Musengo, will open with a reception from 1-5 p.m. March 7. "From the myth and magic of gods and godesses to the mysteries of mermaids and fairies, Julia is inspired by the poetry of the human body," a press release stated.
