Stuffing the bus

Volunteer Karen Johnson, left, helps STS driver Bonnie Reid load donated groceries onto an STS bus Saturday in front of the Food Lion in Callaway. The annual spring Stuff the Bus food drive was held at six local Food Lion, Giant and McKay's grocery stores and, combined with a food drive at the county government offices Thursday, netted 2,960 pounds of food for St. Mary's County food pantries."We're very appreciative of citizens responding because this is tough economic times," said Cynthia Brown, the county's community services division manager. Brown praised all of the volunteers who helped.
