Shootout kills Waldorf man

Prince George's County police are investigating the May 2 death of a Waldorf man during a shootout in Oxon Hill.
A patrolling officer heard gunshots at about 7:46 p.m. in the 5200 block of Indian Head Highway and saw two vehicles fleeing the area toward Washington, D.C., according to a press release.
Inside a car in southeast D.C., officers discovered Kareem Chenier Ware, 33, of the 3200 block of Ryon Court, who had wounds to his upper body.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators are working to establish a motive and identify the suspect or suspects in this case.
